Melody Byrd, Step IT Up Coach and Programme Manager, Temus

Hailing from US, Melody Byrd enjoys her position as the Programme Manager and Coach for the Step IT Up Programme at Temus, a unique hire-train-place tech conversion programme for Singaporeans and PRs looking to start or transition to digital careers. Her goal is to support the trainees in crossing the finish line to graduation. She has been a coach with this same programme in the US for over 9 years and has graduated over 200 participants, including the largest class of Java developers during COVID. Prior to this position, Melody was a business analyst and software consultant for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, the largest health care insurer in the United States. As a lifelong learner, Melody shares her talents outside of work with Toastmasters where she volunteers to train speakers and leaders. One of her favorite quotes is “It may not be easy, but it is always worth it.” This quote especially applies to her life as an expat and to the graduates of the Step IT Up Programme.

Melissa Kee, Chief People Officer, Temus

Melissa is Chief People Officer at Temus. Prior to joining Temus, she had global HR experience in Fortune 100 global MNC and Asian conglomerate with wide-ranging industry exposure in banking, high technology, chemical, medical devices, pharmaceutical, maritime and real estate.

With a consistent track record of building successful high-performance in culturally diverse organizations and leading sophisticated global HR solutions for top global companies, Melissa partners with senior executives to achieve strategic vision, align HR solutions to support organizational objectives, drive operational excellence, and develop future capabilities.

Wong Seok Ling, Managing Director – Cloud, Application and Platform (Low-Code), Temus

Seok Ling has more than 15 years of experience in the IT industry. She has worked in large corporations such as Accenture and Monetary Authority of Singapore. Most of her career was spent co-leading Dreamcloud, an award winning low-code solutions provider for enterprises across various industries. Dreamcloud was acquired by Temus in 2022. As Managing Director, she now builds and manages high-performing multi-disciplinary team that delivers low-code enterprise solutions at Temus, and continues to play key leadership role in project delivery for complex digital transformation private and public sector projects.

Eileen Tan, Digital Business Analyst, Temus

Eileen decided to join Step IT Up to explore a new career path after 5 years as a stay-at-home mother of three. “Participating in the Step IT Up programme was a transformative journey as I blended my passion for continuous learning with the opportunity to pivot to a dynamic new career. As a former programme specialist and then a stay-at-home mum, the structured training not only equipped me with essential digital skills, but also taught me the art of resilience and adaptability in the face of challenges. Being able to engage with fellow trainees and share diverse ideas and perspectives was particularly enriching. This experience has set me on a path to not only drive digital transformation, but to also empower other women in tech and I believe that embracing such change is a gateway to innovation and personal growth,” she said.

About Step IT Up

Step IT Up is an accelerated “˜place, and train’ programme, supported by Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA) under Techskills Accelerator (TeSA) initiative, aimed at growing digital talents for Singapore. The programme was launched in August 2022 has benefitted about 60 people from non-tech backgrounds. Step IT Up has been successfully conducted across multiple countries since its inception 8 years ago by Temus’ strategic partner, UST. *All applicants have to complete an online assessment and rigorous interview process to be selected for traineeship.
